Payments, escrow and refunds
When will I be charged after booking a flight?
With cost-sharing flights, nothing is charged when you book. Volara only places a hold on your card, meaning a simple authorisation. The amount is verified by your bank, but not a single euro leaves your account until the pilot has accepted your request.
The charge happens when the pilot accepts
As soon as the pilot accepts, the amount is actually charged and placed in escrow until the flight. If the pilot declines your request, or doesn't respond, the hold is released: you have paid nothing and no fees are charged to you.
For a commercial flight
On a flight offered by a professional operator, the booking is firm as soon as it is confirmed. Payment is therefore taken straight away, with no acceptance step.
