How do I get a refund if my flight doesn't take place?

It all depends on the reason for the cancellation. In several cases you have nothing to do: the refund or the release of the hold is automatic.

Cancellation for weather or safety reasons

If the flight is cancelled for weather or safety reasons, you are refunded in full, automatically. There is nothing you need to do.

Pilot declines or doesn't respond

If the pilot declines your request or doesn't respond, the hold placed on your card is released. You have paid nothing, and no fees are charged to you.

If you cancel yourself

If you are the one cancelling your booking, the scale set out in our terms and conditions applies. Depending on when you cancel, a portion may remain payable.

Cancellation insurance

Optional cancellation insurance may be offered to you at the time of booking. It is only available when Volara is able to distribute it; if the option does not appear during your booking process, it is not being offered at the moment.
