When is the pilot paid?

The pilot is paid after the flight, never before. This is what guarantees that your money is only paid to them once the flight has actually taken place.

Before the flight

When the pilot accepts your request, the amount is captured and then held in escrow. The pilot has no access to it during this period: the funds are kept safe until the day of the flight.

After the flight

Once the flight has taken place, the contribution goes to the pilot's account. Volara keeps its service fee. With cost-sharing flights, the pilot only receives a contribution towards the cost of the flight: they make no profit.

About VAT

VAT applies only to Volara's commission, that is, to its service fee. It does not apply to the contribution shared between the flight's occupants.
